Young Girl Exchanges Suicidal Thoughts for God’s Grace in her Heart: Philippines

Analyn* grew up without parents. Her mother died when she was just 11 months old, and her father died during a period of gun violence when Analyn was just 6 years old. Her situation made her angry at God and she questioned Him a lot, unable to understand why He didn’t allow her to grow up with her loving parents.

Analyn moved in with her grandmother, but, unfortunately, the elderly women died soon after. This broke the young girl’s heart and she became severely depressed. Analyn wanted to commit suicide because she had given up on life and just wanted to be reunited with her family in the afterlife.

God lead Analyn to the CFF Glorious Hope program. When she attended the program for the first time, a team member offered to pray with her. Analyn prayed to receive Jesus and started walking with the Lord. Her life changed radically and she experienced a deep peace in her heart.

Analyn attended the MOVE Conference in 2018, a youth discipleship conference, where she learned about yesHEis. She joined the yesHEis workshop at the conference and was inspired to use social media as a platform to share Jesus. She posted a simple artwork on her Instagram account which had the verse 1 Corinthians 5:7, “We live by faith not by sight.”

Our local Marketing specialist responded to her artwork, which led to a fruitful conversation. Analyn got connected to one of our full-time staff members. They now attend a small group together and Analyn is learning more about intentional discipleship every week.

The girl is now constantly walking in God’s grace and has overcome her depression completely. She is joyful and hopeful because she knows God makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him.

Please pray for Analyn, that she will be able to share her testimony and the hope and joy she has found in Jesus, with others.
