Harnessing Innovation

Earlier this year, Bogotá in Colombia, became the epicentre for digital evangelism innovation thanks to a training event hosted by CVCLAVOZ, an initiative of CV.

The event gathered more than sixty church leaders, pastors, Christian influencers, and communicators, all unified by a single mission – to amplify their ministry’s impact by utilising digital tools.

Every attendee brought unique insights into how they communicate the gospel and engage communities using cutting-edge digital technologies.

The sessions explored practical strategies on four topic points that would benefit any ministry and situation.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: This topic explored how AI and ML can automate administrative tasks, tailor communications for specific audiences, and predict community needs, all through tools like chatbots and data analytics.

Digital Transformation in Ministry: This session focused on the importance of digital adoption and embracing new technologies, such as the automation of radio stations for production, imaging, and animations, to reduce excessive workloads and avoid higher costs.

Innovations in Media Tools: This discussion centred around advanced equipment such as microphones and remote broadcasting, and how these tools have empowered ministries to produce high-quality digital content from anywhere. This capability is crucial, especially for creating engaging online sermons and podcasts that reach people beyond the church walls.

Practical Actions: This session covered simple ideas and shared knowledge from the experienced CVCLAVOZ team. They spoke about online collaboration platforms and highlighted their ability to improve remote communication between geographically dispersed teams. Tools for data analysis were also introduced, allowing organisations to visualise and analyse data more effectively. For content communicators, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) demonstrated how easy it was to automate repetitive business processes, freeing up time for higher-value tasks.

Colombia, like most countries in Latin America, lacks adequate technological infrastructure and internet access, which has become a significant obstacle for digital evangelism.

Ministries also feel the shortage of tech specialists which directly impacts how they navigate technology and data protection regulations.

Recognising these hurdles, the CVCLAVOZ team provided tailored solutions. Mobile technologies were highlighted for areas with limited internet access, and skill development workshops were designed to elevate technical proficiency.

Post-event feedback collected through an exclusive survey showed that 97 percent of attendees were happy with the event and classed the content of each presentation as ‘excellent’.

CVCLAVOZ Manager Fabio Criales said events like this motivated people to continue innovating evangelism methods.

“Empowering people with modern digital tools is more than just following trends, it’s about revolutionising how the gospel is shared globally and the CVCLAVOZ team does this brilliantly,” he said.
