Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled, creative, and strategic Marketing Specialist who shares our passion for evangelism and wants to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. This role is responsible for developing and executing organic social media strategies, analysing engagement data, and guiding content creators to help achieve organic growth across various social platforms, driving organic reach, engagement, and audience growth in sub-Saharan Africa.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • To drive audience engagement and growth, develop, implement, and manage organic social media strategies across multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, etc.). Maintain a consistent content calendar, ensuring timely and relevant posts aligned with missional objectives.
  • Work closely with the content creators, providing insights on what drives engagement and organic growth by presenting examples, case studies, and platform-specific strategies to develop high-quality, platform-specific content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Lead workshops and one-and-one sessions with content creators to improve their understanding of organic social media marketing and provide personalised feedback on their work to help them align with missional strategy and organic growth objectives.
  • Conduct research and use social media analytics tools to track organic performance and analyse data to derive insights on audience behaviour, content performance, and trends. Prepare regular performance reports highlighting key metrics to make data-driven recommendations for optimisation.
  • Stay updated with platform algorithm changes and trends to optimise content strategies continuously and identify new social media trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for organic collaboration with influencers, thought leaders, and brand advocates.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a social media manager or in a similar role, with a demonstrated focus on organic growth strategies.
  • Strong creative mindset, with the ability to generate new ideas and experiment with different content types and formats.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, etc.), their algorithms, and content best practices.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and tools like Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or native platform insights (META, Google Insights).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to mentor teams and engage with communities.
  • Experience in coaching or leading workshops for content creators and providing actionable feedback to improve organic success is advantageous.
  • Basic design skills  (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus.
  • A committed Christian faith, demonstrated through regular church involvement and a passion for evangelism.
