Omar’s Advocate & Saviour : Southeast Asia

|

Omar, do not be afraid. I am your Advocate. I am your Saviour.

Our CV pioneers have been positioned in Southeast Asia for quite some time and we have received many exciting testimonies of God transforming lives there. Pioneers based in these countries have been able to see the Gospel proclaimed boldly through many different ways. The following is about a man, Omar*, who was reached in a miraculous way:

On the first of June, I witnessed something I never would have imagined possible. Hellfire was everywhere, and judgment was being passed on to my Imam and my fellow Muslims. Religious leaders or otherwise, they were condemned. We were all condemned.

Screaming, shouting, crying; it was all very terrifying. They called for me, but what could I do? As an Islamic school teacher, I was in the same position as them. Soon, it was my turn. I was confused; I was numb. I was still trying to grasp it all. I wasn’t ready for this. At that moment, a voice spoke to me. It said that I would not be judged that day, for there was a Mighty Saviour who would save me.

My eyes opened; I was covered in sweat and sobbing, wondering what my dream actually meant. Questions raced through my head. As I attempted to gather myself for morning prayer, I fell asleep again, and it all came right back. This time however, the Judge spoke right to me; he told me I would be saved provided my Advocate be with me. I replied:

‘I do not know who my Advocate is! ‘

I was scared and didn’t know what to do. All of a sudden, a wonderful man appeared and embraced me. He said calmingly:

‘Omar, do not be afraid. I am your Advocate. I am your Saviour. I have paid the price for your freedom from this judgement. Come with me now on a journey to Heaven. I am the Way the Truth and the Life. ‘

I woke up once more with even more questions than answers. Two days went by before it was all finally revealed to me. As I was reading the Quran, God spoke right to me. He told me Jesus is my Saviour, my Advocate, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I shared my dream with my father but it made him angry and he told me never to speak of Jesus again. This only made me more curious. I wanted to learn more.

I prayed again and again to Jesus, and during Ramadan He blessed me with the opportunity to meet a CV National Pioneer who taught me more about who Jesus really was.

It’s now been a month since that ordeal. I ‘ve been baptized and am learning more about Christianity in the hopes to someday go back to my village and spread God’s word to the people there, including my own family.
